Exposed aggregate concrete driveways are constructed by mixing pre-selected small quarry stones in the ready-mix prior to pouring.  A number of different finishes can be achieved with this process by selecting different coloured stones.

More variations in colour can be achieved by also mixing a colour into the concrete, to either enhance or contrast with the selected stones.
